Your four legal options

NCL provides a diverse array of options to suit your individual legal needs. Each decision we make is based on the case in question, with personalised legal advice and representation tailored to meet your needs. Most cases fall under one of the following four options:

  1. Negotiation – Depending on the charge, direct negotiation with the police may be possible during the early stages of a criminal case. Negotiation is a delicate and highly skilled process that can result in charges being diminished or withdrawn.
  2. Entering a not guilty plea – In many cases, our clients choose to plea not guilty and enter into a trial scenario. Our lawyers have experience in a range of criminal cases and trial conditions to ensure the best results.
  3. Plead guilty but dispute the facts – You may wish to plead guilty but dispute the facts in order to diminish your sentence. This is a common scenario, with our team using their experience and advocacy skills to get a positive result.
  4. Enter a guilty plea – Sometimes, this is the best or only realistic option. If you are guilty, our team will help to ensure the best possible outcome. When a guilty plea is entered in a criminal matter, the case goes directly to sentencing.
